One of the loveliest piece of the MidMod era, walnut “Tatra” chairs originally designed by Antonín Šuman for Thonet. We found them in pieces, a most of the screws and pillows needed to be replaced. We hope Anonín would love the new upholstery we designed for the chairs. We didn’t give up his concept about the unremovable pillow, but we played with colours and patterns.
We painted triangle motives on linen, and after digitalisation we printed it on to the fabrics. So the seats look like as they just were painted, but all of the fabrics are digitally painted, so there is no fuss with cleaning. The special lentil head copper screws arrived from a Czech store. 2 pieces are available, and they are not completely the same.

Large Beech Dining Chairs (4pcs)

<p class="p1">We found these Large Danish style beech dining chairs hiding around an ugly dining table, so we bought the set, gave away the table quickly and after a complete restoration we emphasised the perfect proportions of the chairs with natural white, light and dark grey paint. On the seat we added a secret ingredient to the wax to save the original pale colour of beech wood.</p>

White Armchairs with Wowen Backrest

<p class="p1">This pair of Thonet style armchairs is one of the most mysterious pieces our workshop has ever seen. Obviously they were not made in the factory of Thonet, they seem to be very old, and they used to show an interesting mixture of advanced and D.I.Y. technologies when we found them.</p>
<p class="p1">We intended to give them a gentle cover of white paint and we changed the broken woven seat to a grey upholstery to make it more comfortable. We have got two pieces, shorter one is intended to be for ladies, the higher one for gentlemen, but we don’t want to push the stereotypes.</p>

Double-Faced Lounge Chair

<p class="p1">We found this lovely armchair covered with artificial leather upholstery. There used to be a lot of scratches and holes on it, but every injuries were needled carefully. We were impressed by this lovely DIY story, so we decided to use two pieces of fabrics to cover this armchair reminding to the original version. The legs are fully polished and instead of poisoning lacquer we used natural products to protect wooden parts.<i> </i></p>

<p class="p1">After a basic restoration process this square shaped walnut dining chairs from the 50s got a unique upholstery. We painted playful, geometrical motives on linen, and after digitalisation we printed it on to the fabrics. So the textile is cleanable, and the seats became super comfortable. We have got 3 pcs, you can buy them as a set or just a single piece as well.</p>

Safari Chair by Kaare Klint with Yellow Linen

The father of the former owner of this Safari Chair worked at the Carl Hansen factory, and the he got the parts of his chairs as a gift from the workshop. He assembled his chairs at home, and his wife made a not authentic artificial fur upholstery for them. We rescued them from the fur coats, and after a full refurbishment they got lovely sun yellow linen upholstery. The armrests are the original leather pieces.

Ray of Light Dining Set from the 50s

Geniously simple beech dining set from the fifties. Watching rays of sunlight playing on walls and the furniture means for us happiness, so this lovely view inspired the painted motives on the chairs, extended with the warmth of some walnut coloured oil. We really like the meeting point of the walnut and yellow lines. They are a dining set, you can’t buy only one.
