Description
VEB Narva was an East German state-owned company that operated in the mid-20th century, mainly from the 1950s to the 1970s, and specialized in the production of lighting fixtures. The company operated within the industrial structure of the German Democratic Republic as part of the VEB (Volkseigener Betrieb) system. Narva lamps bear the hallmarks of mid-century modern and functionalist design of the era: clean shapes, metallic surfaces and practical use. VEB Narva pieces are sought-after vintage design objects today, and are special examples of Eastern European applied arts and design history.
